Sir Robert Falcon Scott
Mount Scott honors the British explorer Robert Falcon Scott (1868-1912), who earned his fame as the leader of two expeditions to Antarctica.
The first expedition with the ship Discovery was a resounding success. No one had every been further south than Scott and his team. Scott demonstrated a strong sense of leadership under difficult conditions. On his return, he was received as a hero.
Riding high on his previous success, Scott set out for a second expedition to the geographic South Pole. But the preparations were carried out too hastily and the planning was not optimum.
He reached his destination, but paid for this discovery with his life. Exhaustion, cold and malnutrition ultimately ruined him. But his willingness to pursue adventure and explore new frontiers will not be forgotten.
Mount Scott helps organizations discover new insights and fresh ideas. And protects its clients from pitfalls and shipwrecks in the process.
